Paintings – Dutch School: a half buste portrait of a man in 17th century clothing, oil on wood, unsigned – 65 x 57 cm – defects

This painting was stolen in 1966. Belonged to Mr L.F.W. Sträter, and was part of an art collection at exhibition at castle ‘Wittenburg’ (Wassenaar, NL). Here a photo when the painting was found again. 1-2

The good news: In 1966 this painting was attributed to Van Mierevelt, the bad news: it was attributed to W(illem) van Mierevelt & it was found in the pooring rain, and beforehand cleaned with water to remove finger prints. To me a follower of Michiel van Mierevelt. 2-2
